Join an exclusive Liveaboard experience to the best scuba diving destinations in Thailand with only 12 guests onboard
These are without a doubt the best destinations for scuba diving in Thailand and the main area for all liveaboards
Dives there offer great visibility, stunning rock formations and coral gardens, as well as a great variety of marine life. From the smallest critters to the largest pelagic animals. All you need to know about Similan Liveaboards
When is the best time for Similan Liveaboards?
All dive sites that are visited during the liveaboard trips are protected as marine national parks. Since these parks close from May to October the diving is only allowed from November to April. These also happen to be the months for liveaboard trips.
When is the best time to see manta rays and whale sharks?
This is a bit difficult to say, but most years from December on we have the first sightings.Best chances usually are towards the end of the season, March and April.
What is the visibility like?
Usually the visbility is outstanding. 25m is normal. On many days it is 30m+Only exception are times when nutrient currents bring a lot of plankton. Than the visibility can drop, however, these currents will also bring manta rays and whale sharks. So no reason to be disappointed.
The best way to enjoy the Similans
The best and most relaxing way to experience great diving on Thailand’s premier dive sites is from a liveaboard boat. Thailand has many dive sites which are too far away from hotels or resorts to access easily on day trips. Liveaboard diving allows you to stay on board a vessel for several nights, taking you to these faraway sites, presenting you with so much more to explore over a few days. You will enjoy up to 4 dives a day, with the convenience of being brought to the sites while you are relaxing in your floating accommodation. With Sea Bees, you can choose from our carefully curated list of liveaboard trips starting in Khao Lak and cruising to the best places in Thailand, such as the Similan Islands, Koh Bon, Koh Tachai and Richelieu Rock.
Liveaboard diving
From Khao Lak, our new renovated flagship, the “MV Marco Polo”, takes off on 3-day and 4-day diving safari to the best dive sites in the Andaman Sea. Together with a maximum of only 11 other guests, you will board the Marco Polo at Tap Lamu, the harbour of Khao Lak where you will receive a briefing, check into your cabin and enjoy the first hours on board.3 days / 2 nights liveaboard - Similan Islands
Our 3 days / 2 nights trips start every Friday morning and we will reach our first dive site 3 hours later. In the following three days you will enjoy the best dive sites of the Northern Islands including Koh Bon, Koh Tachai and Richelieu Rock.4 days / 4 nights liveaboard - Similan Islands
Our 4 day / 4 night trips start every Sunday evening and our captain will safely take you the 35 nautical miles to the Similan Islands overnight. In the morning you will wake up to the breath-taking scenery of the Similan Islands. Crystal clear waters, granite rocks and white sand beaches await you.During the first two days, our diving takes place in the Similan National Park and later goes further north to Koh Bon and Koh Tachai, both great places for large fish.
The furthest point north from Phuket during the liveaboard cruise is Richelieu Rock. Our vessel spends an entire day at this isolated offshore dive site, so there is ample opportunity to admire the incredible marine life, macro biodiversity and, with a bit of luck, the chance to spot a whale shark.
On the last day, the boat heads South again, including a wreck dive at a fish magnet wreck. Towards late afternoon, this liveaboard cruise finishes up back in Tap Lamu.
The Marco Polo has been one of our most popular offers, with many divers returning year after year to experience this liveaboard. And we are proud to say that we even have some regular guests who have joined us over 20 times on this Thailand diving safari!
Although there are certainly some newer liveaboards in Thailand, our Marco Polo is a very cozy boat with real charm, very good price-performance ratio and above all a really great team.
