Welcome aboard the renowned and completely renovated “MV Marco Polo”.

With now only 12 guests in 6 comfortable and modern AC cabins, all with their own bathrooms we upgraded the boat completely.

Every week, she embarks on two different liveaboard cruises to showcase the reefs and marine life around the Similan Islands as well as heading north towards the world-famous Richelieu Rock. Experience the best scuba diving trip Thailand has to offer at these premier dive sites in the Andaman Sea!

Liveaboard diving enthusiasts regularly join the “MV Marco Polo” on her wonderful tours, season after season. Many who have sailed on it before keep coming back, such is the addictive marine adventure we give you!

SSI Courses

Nitrox is also available onboard as well as a wide range of SSI Courses i.e. Nitrox Course and Advanced Adventurer to take your adventure to the next level. Non-diving partners are also welcome on board and receive a 10% discount on the cabin price.

Schedule

This liveaboard cruise runs on a fixed schedule from the 15th of October to the 15th of May. Departing every Friday morning and returning on Sunday evening.

The Diving

Departure

Our liveaboard, the "MV Marco Polo", leaves Tap Lamu for a 3-day diving safari to the best dive sites on the Northern Islands of the Andaman Sea. <p>

Your liveaboard tour starts on Friday morning. Together with a maximum of 11 other guests, you board the Marco Polo, receive an initial briefing from your tour leader and move into your cabin to enjoy the first few hours on board.

30 NM later we reach Koh Bon, your first dive site.

More experienced divers will also be given opportunity to dive at Koh Bon Pinnacle, one of the best Manta cleaning stations in Thailand. With a trip up North we will reach the next dive site, Koh Tachai, which is known to be a great place to spot a Manta Ray or even a Whale Shark.

For the night dive on that day, we lie protected in front of the Surin Islands before we go to the world-famous Richelieu Rock the next morning. Awaiting you in the three following dives will be an astounding biodiversity and an impressive underwater scenery.

For the night dive we will be back to Koh Tachai, where we will also do the first two dives on the following day.

Return

The final dive on Sunday will take place at the Boonsung Wreck, a fascinating fish magnet. We will then reach the port of Tap Lamu on Sunday evening at around 5:00 p.m.

2 dives at Ko Bon and Ko Tachai, 1 night dive at Ko Tachai

3 dives at Richelieu Rock, 1 night dive at Ko Tachai

3rd day
3 dives at Ko Tachai, Ko Bon and Boonsung Wrack
return to Tab Lamu around 05:00pm

The Marco Polo

The "MV Marco Polo" is equipped with 6 AC ensuite cabins, a large diving deck, a comfortable saloon deck and a roofed sun deck with bean bags so that you can enjoy the sundowners to the fullest.

Dive deck

The dive deck offers spacious 24m2 for all your equipment. Two ladders guarantee easy access in and out of the water. The Salon & Party deck Upstairs are covered areas with plenty of seating, an indoor salon with TV and music station, where all meals are served. On the spacious and cosy covered sundeck you can enjoy your time between the dives or have a sundowner after the last dive of the day.

The Cabins

There are 6 double cabins, with plenty of space for your personal belongings. All rooms open to the outer deck to give you the full benefit of the cool sea breeze when the sun beats down. All cabins have their own bathroom with toilet, sink, LED mirror, rain shower and hand shower. They all have individual A/C units with a remote control so you can adjust the temperature to your own comfort level. Each bed has a reading light and 220 V outlets with a constant electric supply.
