For the 2025/26 season, this trip starts every Sunday evening from Khao Lak, taking you to the best dive sites in the Andaman Sea.

Overview

Welcome aboard the renowned and completely renovated “MV Marco Polo”.

With now only 12 guests in 6 comfortable and modern AC cabins, all with their own bathrooms we upgraded the boat completely.

Every week, she embarks on different liveaboard cruises showcasing the reefs and marine life around the Similan Islands, as well as heading north towards the world-famous Richelieu Rock. Experience one of the best scuba diving trips Thailand has to offer at these premier dive sites in the Andaman Sea.

Liveaboard diving enthusiasts regularly join the “MV Marco Polo” season after season. Many guests return again and again — a true testament to the unforgettable marine adventures we provide.

SSI Courses

Nitrox is available onboard, along with a wide range of SSI courses, including the Nitrox Course and Advanced Adventurer, allowing you to take your diving to the next level.

Non-diving partners are also welcome onboard and receive a 10% discount on the cabin price.

This liveaboard cruise runs on a fixed schedule from the 15th of October to the 15th of May. Departing every Sunday and returning on Thursday evening.

The Diving

MV Marco Polo Departs Tap Lamu

Our flagship vessel, the "MV Marco Polo", starts in Tap Lamu to begin a 4-day diving safari to Thailands best dive sites such as Similans, Koh Bon, Koh Tachai and Richelieu Rock.
Your liveaboard tour starts on Sunday evening. Together with a maximum of 11 other guests, you will go on board the Marco Polo in Tap Lamu, receive an initial briefing, move into your cabin and enjoy the first evening on board.

Overnight to the Similans

Overnight our captain will drive you safely to the Similan Islands, about 35km away. On the morning of the first day of the safari a dreamlike backdrop of the Similan Islands will await you with its crytal clear waters, granit rocks and white sandy beaches.

Similan National Park

The first couple days of diving will be in the Similan National Park, including Koh Bon and Koh Tachai, both very good places for large fish encounters.

The northernmost point of the Phuket liveaboard is Richelieu Rock. The boat spends a whole day at this isolated offshore dive site, so there will be plenty of opportunities to marvel at the incredible abundance of fish, the biodiversity in the macro range and, with a bit of luck, a whale shark.

On the following days the boat returns south again.

Homeward bound

On the last day there are two more dives in the Similan National Park before the boat makes its way home to Tap Lamu. For the last dive of the tour we have a special treat for you with the fish magnet Boonsung Wreck.

Itinerary of the cruise

Night one: Departure in Khao Lak around 08:00 pm,

Day 1: Three dives + one night dive at Similan Islands
Day 2: Two dives at the Similans, one dive at Koh Bon, nightdive at Koh Tachai
Day 3: Three dives at Richelieu Rock, nightdive at Koh Tachai
Day 4: One dives at Koh Tachai, one dive at Koh Bon, one dive at the Boonsung Wreck
Arrival at Tap Lamu approx. 05:00 pm.

The Marco Polo is a 23m long liveaboard

The "MV Marco Polo" is equipped with 6 AC ensuite cabins, a large diving deck, a comfortable saloon deck and a roofed sun deck with bean bags so that you can enjoy the sundowners to the fullest.

Dive deck

The dive deck offers spacious 24m2 for all your equipment. Two ladders guarantee easy access in and out of the water.

The Salon & Party deck

Upstairs are covered areas with plenty of seating, an indoor salon with TV and music station, where all meals are served.

The Cabins

There are 6 double cabins, with plenty of space for your personal belongings. All rooms open to the outer deck to give you the full benefit of the cool sea breeze when the sun beats down.

All cabins have their own bathroom with toilet, sink, LED mirror, rain shower and hand shower. They all have individual A/C units with a remote control so you can adjust the temperature to your own comfort level. Each bed has a reading light and 220 V outlets with a constant electric supply.
