Overview

Welcome aboard the renowned and fully renovated “MV Marco Polo”.

With only 12 guests in 6 comfortable, air-conditioned cabins, ll featuring private ensuite bathrooms, the Marco Polo offers an intimate and relaxed liveaboard experience.

Each season, M/V Marco Polo operates carefully planned itineraries showcasing the best reefs and marine life of the Similan Islands and the northern Andaman Sea, including Richelieu Rock — widely regarded as Thailand’s top dive site.

Many guests return season after season, drawn by the boat’s comfort, experienced crew, and outstanding dive routes.

SSI Courses

Nitrox is available onboard, along with a selection of SSI courses, including the Nitrox Course and Advanced Adventurer, allowing you to upgrade your diving experience during the trip.
Non-diving partners are welcome onboard and receive a 10% discount on the cabin price.

The MV Marco Polo 5 Days / 5 Nights Liveaboard operates seasonally between 15th October and 15th May, in line with the opening period of the Similan National Park.

Departures are scheduled throughout the season.

The Diving

MV Marco Polo - Departs Tap Lamu

Our flagship vessel, the MV Marco Polo, departs from Tap Lamu Pier (Khao Lak) for an unforgettable 5-day diving safari to Thailand’s most spectacular dive sites, including:

• Similan Islands
• Koh Bon
• Koh Tachai
• Richelieu Rock
• Boonsung Wreck

Your liveaboard adventure begins in the evening (approx. 19:00–20:00). Together with a maximum of 11 other guests, you will board the Marco Polo in Tap Lamu, receive a comprehensive trip briefing, settle into your air-conditioned cabin and enjoy your first relaxed evening on board.

Overnight to the Similans

During the first night, our experienced captain navigates safely towards the Similan Islands, located approximately 35km offshore.

You will wake up to a breathtaking panorama of turquoise waters, dramatic granite boulders and pristine white sandy beaches — the perfect beginning to your diving safari.

Similan National Park

The first days of diving take place within the Similan National Park, including world-class dive sites around:
• Similan Islands
• Koh Bon
• Koh Tachai

These sites are famous for their crystal-clear visibility, massive granite formations, swim-throughs, and the possibility of encounters with manta rays, reef sharks and other large pelagic species.

Richelieu Rock – The Northern Highlight

The northernmost highlight of the cruise is Richelieu Rock, one of Thailand’s most celebrated dive sites.

We dedicate an entire day to this spectacular offshore pinnacle, offering multiple dives to fully explore its rich marine life. Expect:
• Huge schools of fish
• Incredible macro biodiversity
• Harlequin shrimp, seahorses & frogfish
• And with a bit of luck — a whale shark

Homeward Bound

On the final day, the boat gradually makes its way south again.

The tour concludes with a special highlight dive at the famous Boonsung Wreck, often called a true “fish magnet” due to its extraordinary density of marine life.

After the final dives, the MV Marco Polo returns to Tap Lamu Pier at approximately 17:00.

The Marco Polo is a 23m long liveaboard

The "MV Marco Polo" is equipped with 6 AC ensuite cabins, a large diving deck, a comfortable saloon deck and a roofed sun deck with bean bags so that you can enjoy the sundowners to the fullest.

Dive deck

The dive deck offers spacious 24m2 for all your equipment. Two ladders guarantee easy access in and out of the water.

The Salon & Party deck

Upstairs are covered areas with plenty of seating, an indoor salon with TV and music station, where all meals are served.

The Cabins

There are 6 double cabins, with plenty of space for your personal belongings. All rooms open to the outer deck to give you the full benefit of the cool sea breeze when the sun beats down.

All cabins have their own bathroom with toilet, sink, LED mirror, rain shower and hand shower. They all have individual A/C units with a remote control so you can adjust the temperature to your own comfort level. Each bed has a reading light and 220 V outlets with a constant electric supply.
